ቤተ ጊዮርጊስ ቅዱስ ላሊበላ ካሳነጻቸው አብያተ ክርስቲያናት ፈንጠር ብሎ ለብቻው በስተደቡብ ምዕራብ የሚገኝ የመስቀል ቅርጽ ያለው ቤት ክርስቲያን ነው ። በላሊበላ ካሉት ቤትከርስቲያኖች በስተመጨረሻ የታነጸው ይኼው ቤተክርስቲያን እንደሆነ ይነገራል ።

King Lalibela

Lalibela was the son of Jan Seyoum and the brother of Kedus Harbe.Namely the peek of the Zaguwe Dinasty(Ethiopian).He is well known by the 11 Rock-hewn churchs made by his engineering.He is venerated as Saint by the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church on June 19th .

According to Ethiopian cultural history,Bête Giorgis was built after king gebre meskel lalibela of zaguwe dinasty had a vision in wich he was instructed by god through the archangels St.Michael and St.Gabriel the first for him and the later for his queen wife meskel kebra. in the ethiopian synaxarium it tells that St.Michael revieled to the king how to construct the churchs and St.Gabriel to the queen where to construct them.
